Our History

The Catawba Valley Youth Soccer Association (CVYSA) was founded in 1998 and includes all levels of play in youth soccer. CVYSA brought together several small soccer organizations in the Catawba Valley region. This consolidation resulted in more opportunities for the area’s youth to participate in soccer at the recreationalyouth development academy and classic levels.

The CVYSA is affiliated with the North Carolina Youth Soccer Association (NCYSA) and participates in statewide leagues. CVYSA teams have a history of competing at the highest level of play within North Carolina, while maintaining a balance with the fundamental purposes of the organization.

CVYSA has 500 participants between the ages of 3 to 19.  All teams practices and play at the Pepsi Soccer Complex located at the Henry Fork River Regional Recreation Park. Players are able to participate in Recreation, Youth Development Academy & Classic Teams. Our older teams compete regionally and across the North Carolina. CVYSA provides a pathway to the Olympic Development Program (ODP) offered by North Carolina Youth Soccer Association (NCYSA).

Our Goal is to promote, develop and enhance youth soccer in the Unifour area. All of our staff head coaches are professional and formally trained as soccer coaches through NCYSA and the United States Soccer Federation (USSF). CVYSA is overseen by a Board of 9 members and guided by a Director of Coaching.
