The Summer Orchestra Camp is an exciting opportunity for PASD string players (violin, viola, cello, double bass) to expand their instrumental skills and musical knowledge during the summer! This year’s camp will focus on large ensemble performance and will include other group and musicianship activities.
Campers will learn and perform new repertoire in the string orchestral ensemble on their string instrument, giving students the opportunity to continue to work and develop their playing skills after the school year has concluded. Campers will play and develop on their instrument, within their individual section, under the direction of a section coach. Campers will work on and demonstrate respect, a developed sense of discourse, encouragement, and empathy towards their ensemble members. Campers will also engage in fun games, songs, and activities that help expand the fundamentals and elements of music addressed in all PASD music classes, and how they apply to instrumental music performance.
