Tournament Update

We regret to inform you that the VisitLakeNorman.org Soccer Series, scheduled for February 6 & 7, 2010, has been canceled. This is a decision that was difficult to make, however, it was made in the interest of the players and their families. Player safety is our primary concern and last week’s inclement weather has left our soccer fields unplayable. This weekend’s forecast poses an additional risk for those who were planning to travel to the event. In making this announcement now, we can ensure that our participants will be able to cancel hotel reservations without penalty. There will be no penalty if your travel accommodations were booked through T2C Sports, the events housing agent. Lauren Fine with T2CSports will be contacting teams directly.

The quality of service our club provides is extremely important to us—especially for tournaments. This is our first year hosting the VisitLakeNorman.org Soccer Series and we are extremely pleased with the tremendous interest we had from teams that registered for the tournament Friendlies and the number of players that registered for the Boys College Combine Camp (BCCC).

In preparation for this tournament, the club has incurred expenses that are not recoverable. Although our refund policy states: “No refunds will be given in the event of cancellation,” we have decided to make an exception for this event. Teams registered for the Friendlies will receive a refund equal to 60% of their paid registration. Refund checks will be sent the beginning of next week. In addition to this refund, we will provide a 20% credit towards team registration fees for one of our scheduled tournaments in the 2010-2011 soccer season.

We would like to thank our VisitLakeNorman.org soccer series sponsors for supporting this event—including VisitLakeNorman, Adidas, LKN Embroidery, Oasys Sports, Piedmont Natural Gas, T2C Sports, Awards Express, Jason's Deli, Grease Monkey and Dicks Sporting Goods. We would also like to thank our members who planned to volunteer their time.

The Boys College Combine Camp (BCCC) has been rescheduled for April 25th. Next week, we will begin revising the schedule/format and confirming the attendance of college coaches for this new date. Once this process is complete, we will provide all registered players with more detailed information. In the case that a registered player is unable to participate in the rescheduled event, a partial refund will be given.
