Charlotte Independence and Charlotte United

Charlotte Independence Adds Charlotte United As Developmental Partner!

Charlotte United Futbol Club is pleased to announce a Sponsorship and Marketing agreement with Queen City Soccer Club LLC, owner and operator of USL expansion team the Charlotte Independence. As part of the partnership, Charlotte United Futbol Club will be a “Developmental Partner” of Queen City Soccer Club and the team.

Charlotte United FC will play a supporting role in marketing the Independence to our club and the greater Charlotte community. Adding to our excitement at the club, current CUFC players will have the potential opportunity to train and play with the Independence based on merit.

It is an exciting time to welcome a USL franchise to Charlotte. This is great for the city and the soccer community as a whole. Charlotte United looks forward to supporting the Charlotte Independence and its players and coaches in this new era of professional soccer in Charlotte.

“We are very pleased to officially partner with Charlotte United Futbol Club, its coaches, families and especially its young players,” said Independence Managing Partner Jim McPhilliamy. “Our goal from the beginning of our efforts to launch a new professional soccer team was to make the Independence a community-based club that the entire Charlotte area can be proud of and feel a part of. There are talented players all throughout Charlotte and this partnership with Charlotte United will give their youth players something to aim for, and maybe even a chance to train and play soccer at the very highest levels.”

The 2015 season will consist of 14 USL home games, at least one US Open Cup match and several friendlies. The Independence’s inaugural season kicks off on March 27 and runs through September 19. Demand for tickets is expected to be high and seating will be limited.

As of 10:00am on February 27th CUFC families can go to the following site and enter promocode CUFC2015 to secure season tickets for this inaugural season. 2015 Season Tickets

Season-ticket packages will include 11 games at the Ramblewood Soccer Complex, beginning with the May 2 match versus Louisville City FC, as well as two (2) games played outside the home venue. Those two (2) games — the March 27 home opener and April 24 match — will be played at UNC-Charlotte’s Transamerica Field, where all Independence season-ticket holders will receive a general admission preferred ticket as part of their full-season plan.

Individual game tickets will go on sale March 16.
