Frequently Asked Questions
How long are the games/halves?
Futsal Games will consist of two 20-minute halves with a 5 minute half time. Street Soccer Games for Little Blasters and Academy will be in 10 minute shifts.
How many people play at a time?
Four players from each team will be on the court at the same time.
Will there be goalies?
No. We will be using small-sided goals. Goal Keepers are encouraged to play as a field player to work on their foot skills.
What size ball will be used?
Futsal uses a ball that is between a size 3 and size 4 ball. It is also weighted and does not bounce like a regular outdoor ball.
What are the age groups?
Players will be divided and placed on teams based on the calendar year (January to December instead of NCYSA’s Club dates of August to July) Example: players born in 1995 will be grouped with other players born in 1995, etc.
When will the CVYSA Futsal league be played?
League play will be on Sundays and Wednesdays. Little Blasters and Academy age players will be Tuesday / Thursday and an occasional Wednesday.
How old do the players have to be in order to participate?
The age groups will be from 4 to 17.
What is the cost to participate?
For CVYSA players, the cost is $ 50; for non-CVYSA players, the cost is $ 75 (this is to cover the NCYSA fees, insurance and State registration)
What is included with the cost to play?
Players will receive a CVYSA Futsal t-shirt.
Can people outside of CVYSA play?
Yes; however, they will incur an additional fee of $ 25.

How many people will be on a team?
Futsal will have up to nine players per team. Little Blasters and Academy will be a Street Soccer format.
What kind of shoes do they need?
Indoor shoes or tennis shoes - only shoes with non-marking soles can be used.
Are there any special rules for throw-ins/ corners?
All restarts are kick–ins.
What are the time and days of the week of the league?
Games will be played Sundays throughout the day between 1 pm – 9 pm, Wednesday evenings between 5:30 – 8:30 pm at Mt View. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at St. Stephens Lutheran Church will be 5 PM to 7 PM.
